Former defender of Kyiv’s Dynamo, Vladyslav Vashchuk, shared his thoughts on the current level of Ukrainian football.
“I look at today’s football, and it remains quite at a low level. It seems to me that today’s football is like how Dynamo-2 used to play. I don’t like it because many players, clubs, and coaches cannot make teams play until the final minute, second, until the whistle. We watch a lot of England, Spain, Italy, and in the final minutes, goals are scored there, but we don’t have that here. Coaches do not understand where they are going. Many give interviews saying they are in the process, players are in the process.
Today, none of the coaches said they want to win the Champions League, that they want to create a star team. Everyone says there are no players, no one wants to come here. They lack communication with those players. Someone from Africa, someone from Venezuela. I understand that you can find a player anywhere, but you can also find one in other countries. When you take a position, you should understand what you want for yourself, plan where you are going.
Lobanovskyi said that a coach must understand where he is going. But few of our coaches understand where they are going. Today, these are such times. Club presidents do everything for coaches so that they go out and show results,” Vashchuk said.
